Sierra Helada Ridge

Read about the walk

Starting to rise; looking at the sea front at Benidorm with the Puig Campana under cloud, seemingly just behind

The first hill of the ridge; Sierra Dorado

Looking back to the cross; it is tacky, covered in grafitti and lights up at night!!

The way to the relay station (on the far pointy top) and Altea Bay. What doesn't come over on this shot is the amount of up and down as the path crosses a series of gulleys.

The way we had come with Benidorm Island just visible at the end. The cliffs are nearly 1000 foot high and contrast with the rounded slopes on the landward side

The relay station comes into view

Descending to Albir with Altea and its bay beyond

On the following day we took the boat from Benidorm to Calpe and the far end of Altea Bay. Here are some thumbnails of Sierra Helada from the sea (and a close of Penon de Ifach; "Calpe Rock")
